The end of the summer brings good news to the EMPODaT participants

By August, the Online Modules on Transplantation implemented within the Postgraduate Program closed. The percentage of students that passed the course is satisfying since more than 84 % of the participants completed it successfully. The encouraging news is that students, who have failed, will have soon a reexamination opportunity.

The University of Cairo organized its last local seminar regarding “Heart – Lung Transplantation and Miscellaneous Topics”, on Monday the 10th of August 2015. The topics discussed were Lungs, Cardiac and Pediatric Renal Transplantation and Re-Transplants. Family approach role playing was also set up. All students could ask questions answered by a dedicated team of local experts.

In this last phase of the project, local seminars and traineeships still pending will be completed to reach the educational objectives of the project: 6 local seminars per ENPI partner University and 2 X 2 week traineeships for donation and transplantation respectively. Moreover, the Educational Team will now be kept busy with the analysis of the situation of each student and the postgraduate program itself.

This situation shows one more time the already great outcomes of the project, since coordinators and students showed great dedication throughout the postgraduate program. We will be happy to forward you any news regarding the final outcome. In the meantime, we wish those students to be reexamined, good luck and great success.
